Acoustic Dampening and Reinforcing

The management of sound has become an essential design aspect for any kind of vehicle or equipment. Sika has been a pioneer in highly efficient noise cancelling baffle and damper technology. Our technologies significantly reduce high-frequency noise like wind using soft, highly pliable rubber and thermoplastic foams. We can prevent the generation of vibration and low-frequency noise using epoxy-based reinforcers, and our rubber damper systems eliminate vibrations completely.

Heat-Activated Thermosetting Materials

Sika has developed and supplied a number of custom-designed, heat-activated thermosetting materials that can increase the local stiffness of car frames without adding excess weight Products that are sold under the brand name SikaReinforcer® are unique: They can be injection molded into any shape and become a structural foaming adhesive at temperatures between 130°C and 200°C.

Rubber-Based Sealants

The construction industry is already profiting from the highly robust, rubber-based sealants and adhesives developed by the Sika Acoustic Insulators and Reinforcement team. Sika also supplies rubber-based sealants with a widely recognized ability to avoid read-through to both automotive and industry customers.

SikaReinforcer®

SikaStructure®

SikaReinforcer® is a thermically expandable, lightweight, structural epoxy that is molded to the 3D SikaStructure®. Sika Reinforcer® fills the custom-designed SikaStructure® cavity to improve vehicle stiffness, thereby reducing noise and vibration. 
SikaBaffle®SikaBaffle® products are designed with several possible volumetric expansions to seal cavities per customer design parameters. This allows the complete sealing of complex cavities. 
SikaDamp®SikaDamp® is available as a part or bulk system and can be easily applied to any vibrating structurre. SikaDamp® has a variety of uses, from industrial scale to the do-it-yourself market. 
SikaSeal®
Sika Lastomer®		SikaSeal® and Sika Lastomer® butyl-rubber based products seal seams, cavities of various material substrates and their combinations. SikaSeal® and SikaLastomer® are available as performed profiles or in bulk, with or without expansion capability.
