The Sika Awards 2015 was organized by Sika Russia for students of architecture, civil engineering, design, and other relevant professions in universities and faculties throughout Russia. The project mission was to engage students in popularization of bold architectural solutions and employment of innovation technologies in the field of structural chemistry.
Forty three student projects from all parts of Russia were handed in and were then assessed and evaluated by a well selected jury consisting of architects and personalities from Sika Russia.
A jury council meeting was held in April 2015 where 10 finalist teams from various cities of Russia presented their projects to jury members in video conference format. The teams presented their developed projects for the review, spoke about their conceptual and technical features, and finally answered a number of questions.
The Winner project «Bridge in the sky» was developed by Ilyas Kulbarisov and Maria Yegorova, two students of the Ufa State Technical University of Oil. Their concept convinced the jury by offering at once an original and practicable project. The bridge does not only connect one bank with the other but also serves as an educational and interactive area.
