Sika: Founder Patron of Preston Youth Zone
Preston Youth Zone (PYZ) is an ambitious Private Sector led youth project to provide a new, purpose built modern sports, arts, health and wellbeing centre for disadvantaged young people aged 8-21 and disabled young people up to 25.
Sika UK has become a Founder Patron of Preston Youth Zone. Besides that Sika sponsors the project with free of charge Sika products during the construction stage of the new center.
Preston Youth Zone will provide all young people in Preston with somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to, at a time that suits them, and at an affordable price. The Youth Zone will be located right in the heart of Preston City Centre, England, United Kingdom.
prospects for young people
The capital costs of Preston Youth Zone (PYZ) have been secured from the Private Sector and half have been secured from Lancashire County Council. After an international architectural competition, the future architect of the building has been appointed in summer 2015. The building is specifically located within Preston to fill identified sporting and creative facility gaps and targeted provision needs; to address low levels of participation and poor health profiles among Preston's city centre youth population. The project will serve Preston's growing youth population, particularly young people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Vision of Preston Youth Zone
"Preston Youth Zone will help young people keep active and healthy, whilst encouraging them to be positive and aspirational.
Packed full of every sporting and artistic opportunity you can think of, the Youth Zone will be available to young people aged 8-21 years and 25 for those with a disability. Our aim is to make Preston Youth Zone a fantastic addition to the city, full of staff and volunteers whose sole purpose will be to provide the young people who attend with the information, support and advice they need to go on and become happy, caring and active citizens.
All young people will be welcome to join Preston Youth Zone and we will actively involve young people from all communities, backgrounds and abilities to offer un-paralleled youth provision."
