Joints cannot only be found at the building envelope but also inside. Of course, requirements for corresponding joint sealants are different from typical weather sealing products. Very often interior joints are connection joints around door and window frames. But due to more ambient temperatures these joints are usually not exposed to high movements. Sika provides elastic Sikaflex, Sikasil and Sikacryl sealants with suitable movement capabilities, over paint ability and very good compatibility to a wide range of paints that are easy to apply.
Fire and smoke protection
For sealing in and around fire control zones e. g. fire barriers in airports, schools, storage areas or other buildings, Sika provides fire-rated elastic joint sealing solutions to meet the specific project requirements or legal regulations.
Wet Rooms
In wet rooms such as kitchens and bath rooms all the joints are permanently in contact with cold and hot water. In addition, soap cleaning products and other organic substances together with permanent air humidity provide optimal conditions for the growth of fungi and mildew. To maintain an appealing visual appearance of all joints in such areas Sika provides sealants with anti-fungal and anti-mildew properties and with special resistance to a particularly high humidity.
