Project DescriptionThe Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated metro network that will already be the largest in the world, at over 70 kilometres, when the second ‘Green Line’ of the four planned lines is fully open in 2011. These first two lines that are nearing completion have elevated sections for 58.7 km and underground sections in tunnels for 12.6 km.

Gautrain Rapid Rail Link, South AfricaThe Gautrain Rapid Rail project in South Africa between Johannesburg, Pretoria and Johannesburg International Airport, is currently the largest rapid rail transit project under construction in the world, at a cost of more than 25 billion Rand (approx 2.5 billion Euros). The Gautrain is a public– private partnership between the Gauteng provincial government and Bombela. The whole construction project is being undertaken by a Canadian – French – British - South African consortium.
