Brisbane Airport LinkThe Thiess John Holland Joint Venture has been appointed as the principal contractor to deliver the $4.8billion Airport Link, Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) and Airport Roundabout Upgrade – Australia’s largest road infrastructure project which is scheduled for completion in 2012. The project is contracted as a PPP project (Private Public Partnership) including design, built, operation and maintenance service, under a fixed-price contract for an initial five-year period following the tunnel opening.

This new stretch contains the Klimkovice tunnel, which is one of the most significant civil engineering structures on this motorway. The tunnel itself is 1.080 m long. It was founded in the cadastral area of the town of Klimkovice near the third largest city of Ostrava, about 1 km far from the complex of the Klimkovice sanatorium.

Uetliberg Highway TunnelThe 4.4 km long Uetliberg Tunnel, connecting the Birmensdorf bypass (N20.1.4) in the west with the existing Zurich-Chur highway (A3 motorway) in the east, is the key structure of the new Zurich western bypass. The project consists of two parallel tubes, each about 4.4 km long, which both increase in slope by approx. 1.6 % between the east and the west portals. Stations with equipment and installation rooms will be built at both the west and east portals. The underground central ventilation station is located in the Reppisch Valley (Landikon).

The “Route d’Echternach-Contournement Mersch” section is 14.7 km long, with 7.5 km of the road underground through 3 tunnels, and a further 1.4 km over bridges. The tunnel sections include the 2.695 m long Gousselerbierg tunnel, the Grouft tunnel and the 1.850 m long Stafelter tunnel.
