Pfizer's new headquarters successfully combines ground-breaking architecture with stimulating working conditions. The world's largest pharmaceutical company is implementing its philosophy of an interactive working enviroment that offers open spaces and can be easily adapted to changing conditions. To meet these needs, the architects created a building that is carefully integrated into the existing parkland. The building comprises five glazed "fingers" radiating from a three-story elliptical central street building and was completed in May 2002 The strucurally glazed facade is essential to the design. The dynamic facade modulates as the reflections change with the varying light and weather conditions. The reflected trees and bushes integrate the building into the predominantly rural surroundings.
