Recycling and Reusing Wastewater
Sika Egypt did install a new zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment process to reduce the quantity of wastewater and to recycle and re-use water along the production process.
A new wastewater flow meter monitors and measures the wastewater deriving from the production process. A high-pressure washing helps to reduce the quantity of water in cleaning, Water is recycled and re-used in the production of further batches. Furthermore, the installation encompasses new pumps and pipes to avoid any occasional leakage of water.
The new wastewater treatment concept reduces admixture liquid waste from 1,700m3 to 170m3 per year. Savings of distilled water amount to 1,500 m3 per year.
