Hear from our Trainees in Marketing

Filomena Frick

FILOMENA FRICK, SWITZERLAND

Filomena joined Sika Europe Management AG as a trainee in the wind department on 1st September 2019.  In summer 2018 she completed her commercial apprenticeship with Sika and has now started her further education as a Junior Marketing Manager.

How did you start working for Sika?

In 2015 I started my commercial apprenticeship at Sika Schweiz AG. During this time I had the chance to see different departments every six months. After successfully achieving my degree in 2018, I got the chance to gain a year of professional experience in the Corporate HR Team, where I supported the team mostly in employer branding. During this time I realized that I would like to develop myself in marketing. After I decided which further education I’d like to start, Sika offered me this traineeship program. Without any doubt I took the chance, and it was the best decision I could make.

How does Sika support you?

Sika gave me the opportunity to bring in my ideas and to develop myself from the beginning. With this trainee program, Sika helped me to make the first steps into Marketing and complete my school at the same time.

Why Sika?

From the beginning I was impressed by how versatile Sika’s Marketing Departments can be. Every Marketing Department has its own area. So, the variety of Marketing knowledge is gigantic. They have a lot of experience and are happy if they can help you or explain something new to you. This is what makes it fun to work for Sika.

What do you like about working for Sika?

After over four years with Sika, I still appreciate that I learn something new every day by collaborating with different teams, and that is amazing. I have to say the Sika Spirit is not just something we say, we really live it within Sika. I never expected that they will give me so many responsibilities, but they did. This is something I really appreciate.

What do you expect from this experience?

I really look forward to the excellent opportunities Sika will provide me and to combine my knowledge from school to successfully implement my acquired knowledge with my day-to-day duties. I also like to use this opportunity to expand my experience and my skills.

What are your plans for the future?

First of all, I will definitely concentrate on successfully completing my further education as a Junior Marketing Manager. I hope that after the trainee program I will get a permanent position in the marketing department. I would like to specialize in Public Relations or Online Marketing and in a few years I’d like to complete my degree as a Marketing Director.
