Sika, active in the core businesses of Construction Chemicals and Industrial Materials, announces the signing to purchase the business of Cufadan Marine, Denmark, in order to expand its leading position with chemical process material in the shipbuilding industry. The business of Cufadan Marine with an expected turnover of DKK 35 m (approx. CHF 8 m) for the current year will be integrated as a business unit into Sika Denmark.

The acquisition of Cufadan, who is active in the field of acoustic flooring systems, not only enables Sika to extend their core competences - bonding, sealing, sound absorption - but also to enlarge their product range in this key market, Marine. The product range includes up to date chemical process materials used for bonding and sealing, direct glazing, total deck systems as well as fire-proof cable-duct systems.
