Harvesting rainwater

Sika Colombia’s Tocancipá plant was able to fully close the water circuit from harvesting rainwater for production to reuse of wastewater as sanitary water, and after cleaning, reuse as irrigation water for crops. In addition all organic materials are used for composting and fertilizing the garden crops. The specific water treatment filter system has led to a 70% reduction of total water consumption. More than 8,000 m3 of rainwater are collected and used annually, corresponding to 82% of water used.
