Project Description

Spaladium Arena is a new multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena located in Split Croatia. It has 12,000 seats. Event setups range from sports to concerts as well as exhibitions to conferences. The Spaladium Arena is qualified for Olympic Games and is a must-stop tour destination in Southeast Europe. A total of 13,000 m² roofing constructions were completed during October / November 2008.

Project Requirements

The bearing structure of the roof is made of composite panels on a steel framework.
The architect demanded no penetrations of the composite panels and an aesthetically pleasing appearance of the roof surface. A high wind load resistance was also required as the building has a coastal location with high wind speeds of up to 50 m/s.

Sika Solutions

The Sarnafil® G 410-15 EL Felt membrane was fully adhered to the composite panels with Sarnacol® 2170 adhesive. Sarnabar metal profiles were installed as peel stops at the roof perimeter. The flashings were made with Sarnafil® G/S Metal Sheet.
