Project Description
Refurbishment was scheduled for the Euro Lloyd Breuninger travel agency in Stuttgart, of their open plan offices and customer service areas.
Project Requirements
The management and their architects wanted a flooring solution that was ‘comfortable under foot’, decorative and that could not only reduce footfall noise and other horizontal noise transmissions, but also resist indentation from temporary loading and scratching by wheeled furniture and equipment. This was preferably to be achieved through flexible surface deformation and elastic recovery of the flooring system.
Sika Solutions
The Sika® ComfortFloor Pro System was selected as being ideal for the project. This is a smooth, low VOC, coloured, sound insulating system, which has additional polyurethane foam boards installed underneath the flow applied resin system. This consists of a seamless, elastic, polyurethane resin based coating of Sikafloor®-330, followed by a smooth topcoat of Sikafloor®-305 W, a matt polyurethane material. This system is designed to provide excellent sound dampening and thereby noise reduction, together with good indentation recovery and scratch resistance.
