Commitment

Procurement enforces Sika’s strategy and commitment in activities upstream of the supply chain. The function collaborates with a diverse and competitive supplier base that is compliant with current and upcoming supply chain due diligence requirements, and social and environmental standards.

Ambition

Sika aspires to build relationships with suppliers to add value to its customers in terms of quality, cost, efficiency, innovation, and sustainability. The goal is to reduce risk, establish high sustainability standards and enhance Sika’s ESG performance. This is essential to protect ecosystems, conserve natural resources, and ensure long-term economic viability.

Organization

Under the leadership of the Head Global Procurement & Supply Chain, the procurement function operates as a matrix organization with material categories and geographical responsibilities.

  • Material category roles: All materials for Sika’s core technologies are structured around material categories.
  • Geographic roles: All procurement activities are coordinated through regional, area and country-level coordination and structures.

The material category role is complemented by a dedicated category and specialized roles that drive supply chain transparency, due diligence, and decarbonization at Group level, in line with ESG Standards.

Material Categories

Sika’s supplier portfolio is highly diverse, reflecting the company’s broad range of business segments. Sika Procurement serves as the key link between the supplier market and the company, ensuring that Sika capitalizes on innovation opportunities. Material category experts continuously evaluate and refine procurement practices to enhance cost efficiency and sustainability while aligning with Sika’s strategic and operational goals.
