Strategic M&A History in Construction Chemicals

Since 1910, strategic acquisitions have been a cornerstone of Sika's global expansion strategy. Through selective M&A activity, we have strengthened our market position, expanded our geographic footprint, and enhanced our technology portfolio across the construction chemicals sector.

Our acquisition strategy focuses on three key areas: gaining access to new geographic markets, acquiring complementary technologies and product lines, and strengthening our position in high-growth segments.

Notable strategic milestones include our 2023 acquisition of MBCC Group, one of the largest transactions in construction chemicals history, which expanded our admixtures business significantly. The 2019 acquisition of Parex strengthened our mortars business globally, while our purchase of King Packaging enhanced our capabilities in protective coatings
