With a degree in Chemical Engineering and a specialization in Food, Yazmin Strubing began her professional journey at Sika in 2019 in R&D and Quality Control at the Asunción plant in Paraguay. From the very start, she was trusted with responsibility, leading a small team and quickly expanding her scope. Within just six months, she took on responsibility for a second plant. Two years later, she became R&D and QCManager for Paraguay, proof that at Sika, commitment and curiosity open doors.
Since 2024, her role has grown even further to include sustainability, where she leads initiatives focused on reducing CO₂ emissions and helping customers optimize their processes. Today, her work spans across Paraguay and Bolivia.
Throughout her seven-year journey at Sika, Yazmin has thrived in a collaborative, international environment. Working closely with teams across purchasing, operations, sales, technical functions, and finance allows her to transform research and ideas into concrete, customer‑focused solutions. For Yazmin, R&D is where science meets creativity. Her role goes far beyond the laboratory, combining technical expertise with innovation, communication, project management, and sustainability. It is this diversity that makes R&D at Sika especially dynamic and rewarding.
What motivates her most is the constant movement, new challenges, fast-changing priorities, and continuous learning opportunities that support both professional and personal growth.
Her advice to young graduates is simple: be open to R&D. It is a broad and future‑oriented field that values not only technical knowledge, but also curiosity, adaptability, and the courage to keep learning in a world that is constantly evolving.
