This year's Sika Day was dedicated to community engagement and social work with the motto "Caring for each other beyond the expected". Sika Day is a day for all 33,000 employees to celebrate our Sika culture.

Caring For Each Other Beyond The Expected

On the occasion of Sika Day 2023, Thomas Hasler, CEO, and Raffaela Marzi, Head of HR and Compliance, emphasized the importance of Sika's culture and the significance of Sika Day.

This year, Sika Day activities in Switzerland, as well as globally, helped to further strengthen Sika's culture of caring. Sika strives to be a caring employer and a socially responsible company. Sustaining people means sustaining the communities. Through community engagement and social work, a meaningful impact on the world of today and tomorrow can be made. Investing the time of Sika's employees for these initiatives is very important.

All over the world, more than 1,000 projects and activities brought together different teams and functions, along with new colleagues who joined Sika from MBCC. Together, these cross-functional teams gave back to communities. For example by renovating schools, or caring for the environment by cleaning up a beach or a forest to protect our planet.

Head Human Resources & Compliance
"At Sika, we care and support each other. Caring means having respect for each other, and protecting each other. This way our employees can feel safe and we continue to grow together. " Raffaella Marzi, Head Human Resources & Compliance, Member of the Sika Group Management

In most countries, the variety of projects in which Sika's employees were involved was very broad and ranged from blood donations, first aid courses, language lessons for migrants, and clean-up activities to workshops, help for mountain farmers, support for a forestry operation and many more projects.

We will always remember this day with pleasure. And best of all: "Community Engagement" continues to be on Sik's agenda. The objective is to accomplish 10,000 days of community engagement worldwide each year.
