Sika AG announces that its US subsidiary, Sika Corporation, has acquired May National Associates, Inc., a leading manufacturer of silicone and polyurethane products for sealing and bonding in Construction, Industrial, and Distribution markets. May National is located in Lakewood, New Jersey with annual sales revenue of approximately $ 20 million USD and 60 employees.
The acquisition will further expand Sika Corporation’s leading position in sealing and bonding by enabling the company to build up its silicone sealants offering – especially in the growing solar and façade markets in North America.
After the successful acquisition and rollout of its engineered silicones business in Europe (since 2004), Sika can now build a strong silicone footprint in North America and expand its global silicone technology and know-how to this important region.
May National, founded in 1984, manufactures and markets a full range of silicone, polyurethane, hybrid, and acrylic sealants and adhesives. Bringing Sika’s global engineered silicone technologies to the already well established North American market position held by May National, will strengthen Sika’s overall offering to the Construction, Industrial, and Distribution markets.
May National will operate as a subsidiary of Sika Corporation and will be managed under the existing May National management team.
