Innovation and sustainability permeate the entire organization and have a long-standing tradition within Sika. Herbert Ackermann, Global Innovation Manager, focuses in his work on facilitating the cross-functional combination of sustainability and innovation and therefore on developing answers to changing customer needs and market conditions. In 2022, a company-wide innovation exploration process has been developed.
Sika aims to bundle business opportunities and innovation initiatives and to efficiently put into place novel developments with potential for customers. In this context, Herbert and teams across Sika have been exploring innovative materials with a focus on reliability and sustainability to address global issues.
Cross-functional cooperation within the company and with technology-driven companies, scientific institutions and universities for Sika has been a fundamental key to create new knowledge, to translate scientific patterns into technology, and to design solutions with performance and sustainability benefits.
