“This achievement is an honor and proves our commitment to generating world-class communications for the annual and sustainability report,” Dominik Slappnig, Head of Communications and Investor Relations at Sika, said. “This is a team effort. The prize goes to a great team of innovative and highly motivated colleagues.”

The Swiss Annual Report Rating is conducted annually by the HarbourClub, an elite network of Swiss communications and media professionals. For the year 2021, Sika improved its rank in Value Reporting, and the improvement was even more significant for Design, where Sika gained more than 50 spots compared to last year.

The entire Sika organization was involved in the data collection process, from HR to Sustainability to Procurement divisions all over the world. In particular, the Controlling team was responsible for the huge task of consolidating all ESG data and information, and this contribution was invaluable to achieving high-quality reporting standards.

Social Strategic Targets

The winners received their prizes at an award ceremony at the SIX convention center in Zurich on 22 September. Around 200 participants took part in the event.

"At Sika, as with many of the best annual reports, sustainability reporting has become key content in corporate publishing," said Hans-Peter Nehmer, president of HarbourClub. "Our final jury recognized striking improvements here in the annual reports of the 2021 vintage. More and more companies are making the leap to a new communication approach - from abstract, defensive ‘justification communication’ to credible, holistic and thus effective sustainability reporting."

The annual reports of all listed companies represented in the SPI are included in the competition, along with the 50 companies with the highest turnover, the 15 insurance companies with the highest premium volume and the 25 banks with the highest balance sheet total.
