Sika is proud to share the progress of its ongoing community initiative: the JaneSarf SwissHand Project. In collaboration with local NGO JaneSarf and international nonprofit SwissHand, the project provides targeted business training to underserved women and NGO staff in Ghana.

Building Capacity, Creating Opportunity

At the heart of this community engagement initiative is a commitment to capacity building. Through a series of structured training sessions, the project supports JaneSarf’s mission to empower women, youth, and vulnerable groups with practical tools to grow and sustain small-scale enterprises. The training addresses both entrepreneurial development and internal organizational capacity.

A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values

SwissHand, Sika’s strategic partner in this project, brings decades of experience in fostering small business growth in developing markets. Their model emphasizes dignity, knowledge transfer, and accountability—values that align closely with Sika’s belief that sustainable development begins with local empowerment.

Together with JaneSarf, the team designed a tailored training program focused on the real-world needs of small business owners and NGO staff. Sika Ghana employees volunteered their time and skills to lead a series of high-impact workshops, including:

  • Loan Management Skills – Understanding debt, repayment strategies, and responsible loan use.
  • Advanced Excel & IT Training – Improving digital literacy for business planning, data handling, and reporting.
  • Digital Marketing & Presentation Skills – Enhancing outreach capabilities and internal communication.

These sessions reached both JaneSarf’s internal team and its community of entrepreneurs. Participant feedback highlights the effectiveness.

Creating Shared Value

This initiative goes beyond philanthropy, it’s a long-term investment in the local economy and community.

“Community engagement is not just about doing good—it’s a smart investment. Projects like this strengthen our ties with society, stimulate local economies, and ultimately reinforce our brand’s commercial strength. It’s a win for everyone involved.” Yassine Chabbaki, General Manager, Sika Ghana
