Sika Accelerates E-Mobility Innovation with Strategic Partnership at Gestamp
Sika and Gestamp, a global automotive component manufacturer, are closely working together. The partnership encompasses advanced bonding technologies like SikaPower®-492, -474, and -555, widely used across body-in-white (BIW) applications for OEM platforms including VW Group and Stellantis.
Gestamp, with over 100 plants and 13 R&D centers across 24 countries, generated €12 billion in revenue in 2024. With 23% of its current sales tied to EV components, the company aims to surpass 50% by 2027, expanding partnerships with key OEMs and increasing its global presence.
Since 2020, Sika has expanded its footprint in Gestamp’s supply chain—from traditional adhesives to more advanced 2K Epoxy and Hotmelt technologies. This evolution has enabled broader applications across structural, chassis, and EV platforms.
A key milestone in the partnership was the Sika-Gestamp Tech Day in Bilbao, Spain. This event featured hands-on workshops and technical deep-dives into next-gen bonding solutions and battery enclosure innovations, reinforcing Sika’s role as a forward-thinking partner.Sika’s solutions are already embedded in EV programs with major OEMs
