A Warm Welcome and Meaningful Encounters
The afternoon began at ConSol’s headquarters in Baar, Canton Zug, where the group was warmly welcomed by the Consol Managing Director and given an overview of the organization’s work. ConSol offers much more than employment opportunities—it provides dignity, structure, and a sense of belonging for individuals with physical and mental challenges. From there, the team split into small groups and explored the many facets of ConSol’s operations: from creative workshops in glass, paper, and textiles to professional services like laundry, graphics, warehousing, and even accounting.
Hands-On Help, Heartfelt Moments
The highlight for many came during the interactive workshops. Sika experts teamed up with ConSol staff and clients to craft beautiful items: vibrant envelopes and cards, hand-painted glass, and soft, lavender-filled textile bunnies—designed as scented sachets. These moments of shared focus and creativity were moving reminders that work, when meaningful, has the power to uplift.
Reflections and Connections
The activity wrapped up with an open reflection session in the charming “Werkstattladen” a sort of workshop outlet. The team shared impressions, stories, and a few emotional takeaways. Sika experts left not just inspired, but grounded in the idea that sustainability includes social sustainability—building systems and spaces where everyone can thrive.
Why It Matters
Engaging with ConSol was more than a project. It was a reminder of why we do what we do. Supporting inclusive employment isn’t just a checkbox on a CSR list—it’s an expression of who we are at Sika. The company is proud to stand alongside ConSol in creating pathways for participation, confidence, and independence. Helping others help themselves—it’s also joyful. You give a little, but you gain so much more. Let’s carry that spirit forward.
