Sikaflex® PRO-3 Purform® PowerCure is the solution for sealing joints that need to be put to use only after a few hours. Applications are found in the refurbishment of infrastructure that is in service, like transportation and water management infrastructure or running production facilities and warehouses. Rapid curing sealants are also needed wherever nature dictates the working time or when delays of any kind leave a short time for joint sealing.

Non-sag Sealant for Quick Release Solutions

Large roundabout road highway inner city with highrise buildings and cars

For vertical and horizontal joints, Sika offers the non-sag sealant Sikaflex® PRO-3 Purform® PowerCure, which consists of a one-component, high performance sealant and a booster.

The sealant and booster are mixed by the Sika PowerCure dispenser while applying the sealant into the joint. Sikaflex® PRO-3 Purform® PowerCure cures reliably and fast independent of joint dimensions, geometries, substrates, and humidity. As a system primer, we recommend using the rapid curing Purform® Sika® Primer-115.

Typical Applications for Rapid Set Joint Sealants

Lighthouse at sea with waves crashing and clouds
  • Sea and harbor walls: Where the tide limits the application and curing time
  • Water canal and infrastructure maintenance: Minimize downtime for traffic and goods
  • Production facilities: Minimize interruption of production
  • Facilities like stores, restaurants, and leisure: Minimize downtime and costs for business
  • Transportation infrastructure like airports and railways: Where maintenance windows occur overnight to prevent delays in the transportation of passengers or goods
  • Cool and freezer rooms: Where conventional sealants do not cure
  • Construction: Ensure maintaining project deadlines

Illustrated by the build-up of strength of an H-specimen at 23°C

After eight hours, the final strength is reached (0.75 MPa). When the joints can be released strongly depends on the degree of their exposure. The release can take place after one to two hours for recessed floor joints or four hours for level joints with light pedestrian traffic.
