A Collective Effort: Swiss- Ukrainian Collaboration
Established in 2023, the Sika Ukraine Charity Foundation reflects Sika’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities in times of need. Between 2023 and 2025 the Foundation delivered impactful support across Ukraine. Resources have contributed to a wide range of humanitarian initiatives, including:
- Support for children’s and medical institutions
- Procurement of ambulances and essential medicines
- Assistance to animal shelters and vulnerable communities
Through these efforts, the Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference where it is needed most.
A current initiative focuses on the Kalush Central City Hospital in Western Ukraine, where Sika and its partners are contributing to a forward-looking infrastructure project. The hospital is undergoing a major roof renovation, supported by the installation of high-quality PVC membrane roofing, which will enable the subsequent installation of solar panels provided by the Government of Switzerland.
This project represents a critical step toward making the hospital fully energy-independent, enhancing the resilience and reliability of healthcare services for the local population.
An Investment in Medical Stability
The donation and installation of PVC membrane materials—covering 2,500 square meters of roofing—will allow for the comprehensive renovation of the hospital’s roof. As highlighted by local leadership in Ukraine, this initiative is more than a construction project: “This is an investment in the stability of healthcare and the safety of our residents.”
With solar panels already installed and the roof upgrade nearing completion, the hospital is moving closer to achieving full energy independence, ensuring uninterrupted medical services even in challenging conditions.
This initiative has been made possible through the close collaboration of multiple partners and dedicated individuals, most notably the teams at Sika in Düdingen, Switzerland, and Sika Ukraine, who worked hand in hand across locations. Supported by logistics providers and local coordinators, their joint efforts demonstrate the power of cross-border teamwork and partnership in delivering tangible, lasting impact.
