Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Trans Harbour Link is a 21.8 km (13.5 mi) six-lane access-controlled expressway grade road bridge, which connects Mumbai with Navi Mumbai–Raigad, its satellite city. It is so far the longest sea bridge in India. Sika supplied the bridge deck waterproofing coating for this bridge.

Sikalastic® Bridge 5000 was specified for this project as the bridge deck waterproofing solution. It is a polyurethane-based waterproofing multi-layered system composed of:

  • Fast cure waterproofing membrane

  • Adhesion promoter
    Sikalastic® P 628 and broadcast sand
  • Tack coat
    Sikalastic® P 629

 

This high-quality system is the first approved system for bridge deck waterproofing in Germany. It has 35 years of proven “Application & Testing” record and 25 years of life expectancy as per EOTA certification. It is tested and qualified by CRRI Lab for application to bridge deck waterproofing purpose.
